I need to modify the old project from other person. In the VS solution explorer it contains DeploymentFiles folder. This project use signing key with .pfx file.

How can I using existing .ddf and manifest.xml files?

I just recently ran into the same problem. I had to hard code in "C:\Program Files\" instead of using the "$(ProgramFiles)" variable. Once I did that, and closed and reopened VS, it worked for me.

edit: I'm using stsdev 1.4

I suppose that this is a dead project despite I consider STSDEV a better tool of WSPBuilder or Visual Studio 2010 Sharepoint Tools.

I have some images to be deployed in the delta deployment. In the initial deployment i deployed 10 images.

In delta deployment 4 are updated which i need to deploy on production server.

My WSP project is in TFS, which is maintaning all the Images. I don't want to remove 6 images which are not updated from WSP project RootFiles folder.

But at same time I want only 4 changed images to go in the WSP package.

I was able to compile my solution with Debug mode successfully, but while compiling in Release mode, I was getting this error. Your tip above worked for me and resolved my issue. Thanks for the solution.

Hi, How to add OCDExportList in stsAdm tool? I have checked the codeplex site to download the setup file, but There is no setup file for OCDExportList(imtech.codeplex). There is a WSP available to download, So could some please tell me how to setup OCDExportList(WSP) on sharepoint machine? Rickky

I've been a happy user of STSDEV since the beginning but feels that, with VS2010 and the included SP2010 tools, the time has come to use the microsofts supplied tools.

Does anyone have any tips or clues as to migrating my STSDEV 2007 projects to VS2010 SP Tools and SP2010.

I'm thinking that the most important thing must be to magrate the project structure if possible.

Hi boyz. I create a solution with STSDev with many webparts. I modify feature.xml and WebParts.xml inserting new webparts definition.

I DebugDeploy solution and in my WSS (central administration > solution management) wsp is correctly deployed.

But when I check webpart in "Web Part Gallery > New Web Parts " I see only one of webpart I create.
What maybe the trouble / my error?

Hi folks,

Just a friendly comment

I am finding this product (while quite excellent when it works) is becoming more and more unstable with each release. Just wondering if folks when making code changes could put in some basic defensive error handling, invariant notation and also perform some basic code 'proof reading' to test for defect injection rather than relying on test automation tools would go a long way to improving product stability. :)

So far in the code I have seen console.writelines displaying variables 'before' they are assigned a value. No checking of input parameters before making changes to them (stripping off quotes without testing they were there, or testing if the resulting directory is valid or even exists). I am not sure that its a good idea to rely on mutable variables always being valid during the execution of code so it might be worth while sticking in a few more checks than there currently is.

Also, I am finding that currently when the product throws an exception half way through the build, it locks visual studio (requiring a reboot to clear the hung process), although there is a work-a-round by saying yes, to debug, then promptly closing the debugger. :)

I installed STSDev. The option MicroLink LLC shows only in C# not in VB. I was asked to select C# or VB during the installation. Can I use STSDev with VB in Visual Studio? Thanks.

Possibly your assemblies are registered in the GAC.
Remove them from the GAC before starting the build process.

I can DebugBuild the solution successfully,but when i DebugDeploy the solution,and i Compile the solution,the error message is:
